Tangle nets for wrecks and rough ground |
These are usually rigged with stronger ropes
and heavier leadlines for operation offshore
.
Single 8 mm braided headline with 65 grm
buoyancy deepwater floats and No. 4 leadline
for rough ground.
For wreck fishing we rig the nets with a
double headline and 115 grm deepwater floats
every 6 ft with No. 4 leadline we usually
fit these nets with rip stops to reduce
damage.

The standard rigging for these nets is 6 mm
braided polypropylene headline with a 2 oz
float every 15 ft with No. 2.5 leadline.
Also popular is a double headline with a
small float every 15 ft with No. 3 leadline (add £ 12.00 per 100 yd net ).

Sole & plaice nets |
Standard rigging: Headline is 6 mm
braided rope with No. 2 leadline threaded
through the bottom of the net for good
ground contact. No floats are used as the
buoyancy of the rope is usually sufficient.
Heavy rigging : For strong tides we
use 8 mm rope and No. 2.5 leadline (add £10
per 100 yd net).

Multi-mono nets |

Multi-Mono nets must be used if fishing
in Scotland.
These are rigged by halves approximately,
which means that the finished length of the
net is half the stretched length. They are
fitted with a non-kink 6 mm braided
polypropylene headline with 2 oz buoyancy
floats every 3 ft approx. on the surface
nets with No. 2 leadline. Bottom fishing
nets have floats spaced every 6 ft approx.
and No. 3 leadline.
