Our work in the golf and sports field protection
market has given us considerable experience of
high-level netting installations; this has naturally
led to the installation of personnel safety nets.
Tidal Wave Ride, Thorpe Park

We have installed numerous netting systems at
Thorpe Park, Alton Towers and Chessington World of
Adventures, mainly to catch loose objects falling
from roller coasters. This net was required to catch objects
falling from the Tidal Wave Log Flume onto the
‘Stealth’ ride below. As you can see, you need a head
for height to work on a roller coaster - this was
140ft up!
Addington Court Golf Driving Range

We have done several installations of this nature. This netting prevents Golfers from falling from the first floor of the two level driving range. Netting is made from 100mm x 5mm polypropylene.
Swimming pool roof net, Portsmouth
This swimming pool had a problem with damaged tiles on the ceiling due to condensation. Coastal nets were asked to install a false net ceiling to catch any debris. This was a tricky job as access was difficult. A scaffold bridge on wheels was built across the pool so we could get to the roof area. We used white 20mm knotless netting.
Bird Netting, Yeovil

The town of Yeovil suffers from problems with
pigeons. Coastal Nets were called in to install
protective netting to prevent the birds from
entering the courtyard of this converted hotel.
The courtyard was covered to block off all
possible entry for birds. Netting used was 28mm
black polyethylene.
Southampton Magistrates Court

This netting was put in place to catch any
falling glass in the event of one of the windows
failing. The netting had a steel core to protect it
from sharp edges and a layer of debris netting to
catch any small pieces. All netting was fixed to
wire rope attached to the framework of the building.
Browns of Loughton, Essex

We were called in to a solve a common problem at
this site. Kids had been vandalising cars by
throwing stones onto cars in a compound. They caused
thousands of pounds worth of damage. We put a net
roof over the 30m x 30m compound which was held up
by four 6m high lattice masts in the middle. The net
was made from 20mm knotless polypropylene.
The photographs below show the protection nets fitted
close to the working surface to keep fall distances
to a minimum.

Some difficult and complex installations may require
the use of steel cables as extra fixing points. In
this instance, the cables are all tested and
certified to the required standard.

These photographs show a waste paper bulking bay
covered in heavy duty netting.
The roof height is 6 metres to allow access by
machinery and loading skips.
The netting can be lowered for cleaning and a
curtain door covers the front entrance.
